Chris’s mother was born and raised in Fiji and he recalls eating “exotic, spicy food” as a child. That early exposure to spice proved to have a lifelong influence – Chris worked as a chef for 12 years before moving into the telecommunications industry, but he’s always made his own chilli sauces for friends and family.
In 2010 a dare from a friend saw the official launch of Culley’s, initially at Farmers Markets around Auckland and then specialty food stores.
His products have been inspired both by his passion for quality and by his travels to over 25 countries.
